Gifts Of Kindness

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – A Harrison, Ohio family may not be rich, but they're an example that you don't need money to help others.  They are inspiring people all over the Tri-State to help people in need.

Harrison High School sophomore Adam Hoover has a big heart, so big that his house doesn't have room for all of the clothing and food donations he's received.

Adam and his mother, Anna Abdin, started a charity out of their home  called Gifts of Kindness. It started when we were giving away some toys which belonged to Adam's two-year-old brother Max. They met a woman through Craig's List who needed help.

"My mom started talking to her and she had nothing," said Adam. "She'd lost her job and the oldest kid was working to pay for the family. So my mom rounded up more toys, a Christmas tree, and things for the house."

"There were ads for people saying they needed Christmas, and we looked around and said, 'we could get rid of that,' and we just started filling people's needs," said Anna.

Anna's family needed help when she lost her job, and they all wanted to give back. With Adam working the web, and putting up fliers around town, Gifts of Kindness is growing.  People are driving to Harrison from all over the Tri-State area to donate.

"I've always told my kids to just give with a good heart, and everything will always be fine," says Anna.
